A Shakespeare retelling, a low page count, and high hopes — none of which Vinegar Girl managed to live up to. Despite its short length, the story felt sluggish, the characters forgettable, and the overall experience disappointingly bland.

The Bookbinder’s Secret by A.D. Bell pulled me in from the very first page. A peek behind the scenes of a bookbinder’s world, with mystery, romance, and nostalgia—this cosy, cleverly constructed story is a delight, even if I figured out the twist early. A perfect read for book lovers.
