If he can’t have her, no one else can . . .
Kade Mitchell is obsessed with someone he despises.
A snake in angel’s skin, Stacey Rhodes is everything he can’t have — the girl who shattered his heart and drove him deep into the darkness of the underworld.
He’s watched her for years. Killed anyone who came close to her. But now, with a brief moment of freedom from the life he’s trapped in, he’s back home and ready to re-claim what’s his, and break his every rule.
Not even his hatred can stop the pull between them. But he’ll never forgive her . . . will he?
A finished copy of Insatiable by Leigh Rivers landed on my doorstep recently, ahead of the release of the second book in The Edge of Darkness trilogy, Voracious on the 14th April (Insatiable was released 10th Feb).
I’m only about 50 pages in, but it’s already giving me strong Haunting Adeline vibes (a book I started last year and never finished 😅). She’s smouldering, dark, intense, and a little bit dangerous.
The book itself is such a treat to look at. From the surprise endpaper artwork showcasing the main protagonists, Kade and Stacey, to the Spotify playlist tucked inside. Right at the top is Deftones’ Digital Bath, which is one of my absolute faves!
So far it’s an easy, flowing read (although I am only 50 pages in) and it doesn’t take much effort to follow the story. That said, there’s definitely something simmering beneath the surface… And if you’re a fan of smut and spice with some more of the alternative-ahem-taboo themes (18+) this might be one for you (I’d thoroughly recommend checking out the trigger warnings first).
If it’s not your bag, there’s nothing to see here 👀
Have any of you read it yet? Or any books by Leigh Rivers? I’d love to hear your thoughts if you have, or if it’s on your TBR!
As always, I’ll be sharing my full review once I’ve finished.
This was a gifted copy, with many thanks to Hannah Hargrave and Little, Brown Book Group.
Until next time… stay spicy 🌶️
